I build software that helps trades businesses get found and get paid.

Founder of ClearHire. Before that, I spent years implementing ERP systems and running IT projects. These days I design, build and ship my own products, using AI as a working tool.

ClearHire

Homeowners use it to check Oregon contractors before hiring. Contractors use it to get found and get paid.

The problem

Checking out a contractor in Oregon means searching several state databases for the CCB license, electrical and plumbing certifications, LLC standing and workers' comp. Most homeowners skip it. On the other side, small contractors often have weak online profiles and handle invoicing on paper or in a patchwork of apps.

What I built

  • Instant verification. Search any Oregon contractor by name or CCB number and see their CCB license, BCD electrical and plumbing certifications, LLC standing and workers' comp in one place. It's free for homeowners.
  • Contractor pages. Every business gets its own ClearHire page, linked from search results, with Google profile data matched to Oregon businesses.
  • Get Found Online checklist. Contractors get a guided list of steps to improve their visibility on Google and other directories.
  • Invoicing and proposals. Contractors can send proposals and invoices, with their own terms and policies, from their account.

How I work

I'm the only person on it: product, design, code, data and go-to-market. I ship small changes often and decide what to build next by talking to contractors.

BudgetPlanner Pro

A budget planning platform for finance and IT teams, built from what I needed and couldn't find while running IT budgets on a global ERP program.

The problem

IT and department budgets usually live in a pile of spreadsheets: consultant rates in one, contracts in SharePoint, headcount in HR, travel somewhere else. Pulling them together into a forecast that leadership trusts takes days every month.

What it does

  • One place for every cost driver. Consultants (rate, hours, allocation), headcount with burdened labor cost, project budgets split by CapEx and OpEx, travel, and vendor contracts.
  • Built around how finance works. GL accounts and cost centers come in by CSV, and every cost rolls up to them.
  • Reports leadership asks for. Budget variance, consultant utilization, contract renewal calendar, year-over-year comparison and a what-if scenario planner.
  • Enterprise-ready. Microsoft 365 and Azure AD sign-in, SharePoint contract sync, admin/manager/viewer roles, approval workflows, a full audit log, and a choice of browser storage or the customer's own database (Supabase, Firebase, Azure, Postgres).

ApplyKit

A Chrome extension that tailors a resume and cover letter to the job posting you're viewing.

It reads the posting on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday and most company sites, then sends it with your master resume to Claude, which writes a tailored resume and cover letter. You can edit the results in the browser and save them as PDFs. Each application costs about a dime, and everything stays stored in your own browser.

Background

I've spent my career between the people who run a business and the software they run it on. I've gathered requirements on shop floors, trained owners on new systems, managed onshore and offshore development teams, and kept a multi-year global ERP migration on track. ClearHire puts all of that to work on a problem I care about.
